| The 2006 Greatest Show On Turf was presented on
the park grounds at Balboa Park in San Diego. The grass was
absolutely full of classic, vintage, muscle, street rod and unusual cars. There
were at least a few hundred cars. Alas only one Pantera (mine) was
able to make it to this show. I did manage to run into Dave Briggs
and Doreen Harvey who arrived in Dave's Tiger.

That's me sandwiched between one of the 3 Ferraris and the DeLorean.
Get this, when we were prep'ing our cars for the show, the DeLorean guy
offered me his pot-scrubber pad to clean up my car. We laughed and I
told him to check with the Ferrari guys. He actually used one of those
Brillo-like pads to clean up the car.
By the way, just when you've thought you heard all the questions like
"what is that car?" or "Is it one of those..." The
DeLorean guy told me he'd been advised once by a looker that it was an
aluminum-bodied Pantera!

Tons of '57 and such T-birds

I thought you only saw these in magazine ads at the back of popular
mechanics. I guess someone actually did build one, a Laser 917

This one is tough to describe, you just had to be there.

'57 era Chevys were plentiful

Here you have it, inspired by none other than Gustave Eiffel, the worlds
tallest carburator. A 1970 Nova with a gigantic carburator spacer.

Since I was so close by, i snuck over to the Aerospace Museum for a quick
visit. If you haven't been, you need to check out this fantastic
collection of Aero-phernalia.

This 69 SS 396 Camaro was incredible and not surprisingly won a trophy

A cute little Bugeye Sprite

A grocery-getter with guts. This '69-ish biscane had a big block
with a tri-power setup. I'm sure Bob (Mr tri-power) Richards could
have enjoyed some interesting conversation with this guy.
