| On April 1st, Jeff Goodall
prepared something of an April Fool's joke upon the membership. Billed
as the "Run for Ecology", Jeff's intent was to give the environment a break,
by choosing a route that would enusre only a nominal impact to our
environment. With all the talk/concern about our earth's ozone layer,
I think this was a noble gesture on Jeff's part.
The actual course was approximately 1/4 mile, from Jeff's driveway, to
the Bernardo Winery, just down the street from Jeff's neighborhood.
Jeff broke the news to us in a driver's meeting immediately prior to our
departure.
Well, as it turned out, this event was anything but a joke. Despite
the short drive, we all had a great time sampling the local products and
sitting around listening to the musicians. A grand time was had by
all.
Thanks for arranging this great event Jeff.
I'm sorry we couldn't have had more participants. It seems there
was a small mix-up in sending out the email notifcation, and it didn't get
out to the membership until Thursday. If you missed it, i'm very
sorry. We'll be sure to get the word out as early as possible for the
next one (your webmaster has the ball for that one).
